Mothers come in all sizes and shapes
skinny ones and fat ones, if you please
some moms give while other moms take
but the best are mothers on their knees
When these moms see their children, little or big
turning their backs on God and in the devil's camp
listening to the devil's tune and dancing to his jig
they hit their knees and light the old prayer lamp
If you have a mom that kneels and prays
you are more blessed than you can know
she'll call your name to Jesus all her days
she'll plead your case though her own tears flow
But, child of God, if your mother is still unaware
of the blessed Savior's mercy and grace
she may be weighted with many a burden and care
its up to you to hit your knees and plead her case
God allowed a special bond between mother and child
a bond that is deep, and one that's hard to break
remember her loving hands, remember her smile!
forgive and forget the mistakes that she may make
Oh, how often has the story been told, now
of a lost and wayward daughter or son
and a mother on her knees who didn't allow
the problem a rest until Christ's victory was won
Mother's day is only once a year, 'tis true
but everyday God hears all the mother's pleas
for all their children, for me and for you,
God bless all of the mothers on their knees!
