Fret Not

Psalm 37:1  Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity."
The envy part isn't much of a problem with me.  Workers of iniquity are not very enviable in my estimation.
Fretting about the evil doers, though, seems to be right up my alley.  The Internet doesn't help---it confuses the already dark and stormy night of my thinking processes.
T.M.I. (Too much information) tends to boggle my mind, confusing my pitiful senses and dragging me down like a pair of concrete shoes in the deep river of life.   Saying that, I suppose it is good that I only have access to the "net" a couple of times a week.   My computer is getting old (like me) and is slow and poky (also like me), therefore not much is accomplished in the few hours we spend together---my computer and me.
I know I am rambling, discombobulated and silly today.   Back to fretting---it is hard not to get a little anxious in this world we live in.  I'm like Peter when he took his eyes off Jesus and began to sink.   To give Peter credit, though, at least he jumped out of the boat and actually walked on the water.   Would I do as much?    I don't know but I do know that I have a terrible score when it comes to keeping my eyes upon Jesus and not on the crashing waves of life.
Father, forgive me.  Draw me nearer to You.   I want to rest in You, knowing nothing that is happening that is a surprise to You.  You know all things.  These are evil days and evil men abound but You are greater.   Hate is malevolently oozing into every aspect of society.   Betrayal is the norm.  A lazy apathy has smothered our sences.  Right seems wrong and wrong seems right.  Our children in this culture are growing up without a clue of who God really is.  Oh, Father, forgive us!  It is overwhelming to me but not to You.   You see the whole picture and You are not a man that You should lie.  Your word is true.  Though we see through a glass darkly, You know the beginning from the end.  You ARE the beginning and the end!   Thank You for Your great faithfulness!   Thank You that I am Your child, bought with the blood of Jesus!   May multitudes come to know You in these last days!  Praise Your Holy Name.   amen and amen
